For this mod we only need to modify the printer feet. Base and feet are the same for each corner and will be adustable for all 20×20 aluminium frame.
Due to the bear frame, Raspberry PI cannot be at the same place as with original Prusa and has to be relocated.
EDIT: it is possible to use the Modular Control Panel
Prusabox power supply will remain the same no matter if you have a black PSU, a sliver psu, with or without power panic.
The suggested 3D printed parts will not work on the latest version (v2.1) of the Bear frame. This version has more substantial brackets which interfere with the placement of the squash ball feet.
However these: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3753905 work perfectly. The rear feet have to be attached inside the rear support (rather than on the side supports). I still used your parts for mounting on the floor of the Prusa Box.
Thank you for this, it works perfectly for my setup.
Thank you James for your feedback !
I’d love to see how you did this. I’m attempting this now and the printer is too far forward. The front feet are on the side rails and the rear are on the back wall. The end result is that the printer, with the balls in the rails, is about an inch too far forward.
Please show me how you did this
Hello Snype, please send us picture via email, we will answer you shortly.
I sent a bunch of pics and measurements to Julien when I had the box. There wasn’t any way I could find that I could fit it in. I’d love to solve this, your boxes re really nice, but I don’t want to risk shipping across the Atlantic on a second attempt without some assurances.
I know you have two new boxes, I am keen to know how well my printer would fit.
I’m trying to find the placement measurements. Could someone tell me how to sit my Bear into this box?
Does the Bear v2.1 fit in this and the require parts (STL) supplied now?
